Need to know
With the new tech in place for e-tickets, we can now offer card payments for beer tokens. This means you don’t need to come prepared with as much cash.
Keeping with tradition, all cash and card payments are taken at the Beer Token stand – you can then use your tokens to purchase your beer (or preferred beverage) and food from the different stands.
Like the beer, the pop-up street food at the festival only uses highest quality ingredients. In the 43 years of hosting the beer festival we’ve focused on using local produce, suppliers and simple menus.
The Sorrel BBQ
The BBQ this year is offering handmade local Cotswold beef burger and the best quality bacon and sausages sourced through Lanes our quality meat supplier. The baps we use are produced by Norths Bakery – a local business. To help you with your five-a-day we’re offering more greenery to accompany your BBQ selection.
For something lighter to accompany your beer or cider we have traditional pub snacks of crisps, peanuts, pork scratchings and pickled eggs.
Beer, ciders and perries
We go to great lengths to choose the brewers whose products we showcase. Whether you are new to real ale drinking or a seasoned imbiber we bring an array of fine brewers to the Cotswolds and have the best locally brewed beers, although we don’t have space for all of them – there are now about 25 breweries we consider ‘local’; when the festival started there were only 2!
We adopt the same approach to choosing cider and perry for the festival, although being at the centre of the UK’s cider and perry industry, local products are more dominant.
As usual we will have a range of soft drinks. In addition to fizzy drinks, we will have a range of fruit juice, including several varieties of the ever-popular Hayles Fruit Farm apple juice from just the other side of Winchcombe.
Soft drinks are free to “designated drivers” who undertake to consume no alcohol at the festival – just ask for a card at the soft drinks stand (in the cider marquee behind the barn) when you arrive.
